Recreation Passport
The Recreation Passport is required for vehicle access to state parks and recreation areas, state-managed boating access sites, state forest campgrounds, thousands of miles of trails and other outdoor spaces – all year long! Learn how to get it, where it can take you and what it supports at Michigan.gov/RecreationPassport.
Hours
8 a.m. to 10 p.m. (Memorial Day to Labor Day) or dusk. Overnight facilities are not available.
Park amenities
The park is an excellent destination for summer and winter water activities. The sandy beach and one-mile shoreline on Cass Lake make it a great retreat for swimming, boating, fishing, and cross-country skiing.
Alcohol
You may not possess or consume an alcoholic beverage at any time in the park, (unless the park manager has granted written authorization through an event permit).
Pets
Pets must always be on a 6-foot leash and under an owner’s immediate control.
All pet waste must be properly disposed of in trash receptacles. No animals on the beach.
Special rules
Fireworks are prohibited.
Don’t move firewood!
Tree killers could be just one bundle of firewood away. Invasive insects and diseases have destroyed MILLIONS OF TREES in Michigan – often after hitching a ride on firewood.
Hauling firewood, even a short distance, from one part of the state to another is a common way for these invasive species to infest new locations. Please purchase only certified heat-treated firewood sold in state parks, local stores and roadside stands.
